Visit to the land of JaganathMahaprabhu - Puri Trip

I have been to Puri many time, may be over 20 times. However, my recent visit to Puri was after a gap of 15 years. The last time I went there along with my family was in 1999. Many things have changed in Puri since my last visit. Many new luxurious hotels have come up and a superb theme park ‘GourVihar’ in the outskirt of the city. This time I went along with my dad and Pal meso. We stayed in Victoria Club hotel, we were lucky to get the ground floor sea view room as it was off season. However, the weather was not very conducive; there were heavy rains all the 3 days we stayed. Anyway, we managed to visit the temple and see lord Jaganath. In the evening we went to GourVihar and saw the theme park that was built by a widow without taking any financial help from any agency. The park is having enormous statue of various God & Goddesses. A very commendable job done indeed, moreover, there were no entry charges. On the second day we hired a car & went to meet Bubudi and Jamaibabu[Dr. RR Nanda] in Bhubaneswar. On the way we visited the black pagoda i.e., the Konark Temple and the Lingaraj temple. I met Bubudi&Jamaibabu after about 20 years, the last time I met them was in Lucknow when Jamaibabu was posted in Memaura Air base & I was SGPGIMS. Jamaibabu now retired from Indian Air force as Air commodore was in the process of establishing his own clinic in Bhubaneswar. They have decided to settle there.
